This page covers CPSC recall 19-748, serials 18058001–19028225 sold June 2018–March 2019, without identifying a precise assembly plant or treating the BigDog models in the same notice as identical. [4]

Is Hustler mowers made in China or the USA?

A universal all-US-parts or China-made claim is not public in the reviewed sources. The sources establish the maker and Kansas company location, while assembly and component origin for each current model need product-specific evidence. [2] [3]

Same factory, different label

The 2021 acquisition release names Hustler and BigDog as Excel brands. The 2026 Bad Boy agreement is a corporate transaction and does not establish that all Hustler, BigDog or Bad Boy mowers share identical designs or production lines. [2] [3]

Where was your power tool made?

A company address and a country of manufacture answer different questions. Start with your exact model.

  1. Find the model and serial number on the tool’s rating plate.
  2. Read the country-of-origin line on the tool or original packaging.
  3. Match the exact model and production date to the cited record.

Questions people ask

Who makes hustler mowers?

Excel Industries manufactured the Hustler FasTrak and FasTrak SDX zero-turn mowers listed in CPSC recall 19-748, serial range 18058001–19028225. BigDog models in the same notice share the named manufacturer; that does not make every specification identical. [4]

Who owns hustler mowers?

The 2025 SBD report includes Hustler, and the September 2026 release announces a proposed Excel sale to Bad Boy. It explicitly says Excel remains in SBD’s continuing operations until closing; a sale agreement alone does not prove ownership has transferred. [1] [3]

Where are hustler mowers made?

United States manufacture is explicit for that recalled FasTrak/SDX scope sold June 2018–March 2019. CPSC’s Hesston company address is not used as proof of the precise assembly plant. [4]
