Who makes GE washers?
GE washers are made by GE Appliances, a Haier company; Louisville makes top-load washers, while a 2025 plan would move more front-load models from China to Kentucky in 2027.

The dated Haier announcement identifies GE Appliances as a Haier company. GE laundry branding should therefore be read through the appliance company’s ownership. [3]
Who actually makes GE washers?
GE Appliances’ June 2025 announcement identifies existing top-load washer production in Building 1 and plans a redesigned Building 2 for more than 15 front-load models. An announced factory expansion is separate from a completed transfer. [3]
Where is GE washers made?
Appliance Park in Louisville is an established washer manufacturing campus, as the Kentucky report also confirms. The new front-load lines were scheduled to open in 2027; this review does not treat that future date as an operational factory today. [2] [3]
Is GE washers made in China or the USA?
There is evidence for both US-made top-load washers and China-sourced front-load models. A GE logo alone cannot distinguish them; model and production date matter during the announced transition. [3]
Same factory, different label
GE and GE Profile appear in the same laundry relocation plan. Café, Monogram, Haier and Hotpoint share the corporate portfolio, but that does not put all those brands on the announced front-load production line. [1] [3]
Where was your washing machine made?
A company address and a country of manufacture answer different questions. Start with your exact model.
- Locate the rating plate without removing panels or moving a heavy appliance.
- Record the model, serial number and any country-of-origin statement.
- Ask the manufacturer about that exact unit if the plate does not state an origin.
